ObjectFX's new SpatialRules helps defense, homeland security, and the intelligence community identify actionable intelligence

(February 24, 2009) Olney, MD- ObjectFX, a leading provider of geospatial platform solutions, announced the release of SpatialRules version 3.0, its spatiotemporal rules engine, as part of the growing suite of ObjectFX geospatial solutions.  This new software brings a significantly higher level of insight and flexibility to support mission planning, situational awareness, all-source analysis, asset-tracking and battlefield visualization. This rules engine is being used by port security officials to enhance port security – by applying an unlimited number of user-defined rule layers, this tool can sift through the flood of real-time, sensor-based information, pinpointing the information that really matters.

SpatialRules 3.0 is a dynamic, service-oriented (SOA) middleware component designed to manage and analyze large volumes of spatiotemporal data, transforming that data into usable information.  Designed for enterprise government organizations, and particularly valuable for intelligence, defense, and homeland security initiatives, SpatialRules 3.0 works with an infinite number of user-defined rule layers, enabling the user to track moving objects or real-time events through automatic system-generated notifications.  Version 3.0 adds three-dimensional features, support for 3D calculations, dynamic cluster detection to determine when objects or events within an area reach a specified density threshold, track creation and monitoring, intersection of complex geometries such as weather patterns intersecting with moving protection zones, and built-in support for a broad range of input formats including: Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Geography Markup Language (GML), ESRI ShapeFiles, Google Earth KML, and GeoRSS.  This unique solution helps to get the right information to the right people at the right time – particularly intelligence analysts, battlefield commanders, and logisticians.
